A personal project re-designing the book cover for ‘All Systems Red’ by Martha Wells, the first book in the MurderBot Diaries.

Before starting any digital work, I sketched out a board range of initial ideas.

Many of these designs involved the helmet worn by the main character so I spent some time practising and refining the shape of the helmet.

The first step of this project was to examine the design choices of the orignial cover to understand what information it conveys about the book’s subject, themes and tone.
